I said nothing of the sort. Let me speak plainly so your feeble brain can understand it.

If I sell sandwiches and on a normal day I can make and sell 200 sandwiches. One day I show up to work and someone broke into my sandwich shop and stole enough sandwich meat, bread, cheese and condiments to make 20 sandwich then that day I can only make and sell 180 sandwiches.

So towards the end of the day customer number 180 buys my last sandwich for that day. The next 20 customers that come in are blacked out.

So if all of Texas' power generation is cut by 10% then that means either 10% of the people are blacked out or everyone gets 10% less power which means a brown out for everyone (i.e. not enough electricity to run anything).

It does not mean that all power plants "froze" or shut down or anything of the sort. It just means that there was just not enough electricity to power everyone's houses.

Electricity is not some magical thing that makes it different than my sandwich analogy.

No clue. I didn't read up on what happened in Texas. The most I have read about it was looking up what Greg Abbot said about the power outage. Perhaps it was because what happens in nearly every heavy winter storm. Perhaps they cut the voltage by 10% which caused transformers to fail.

At one point in my life I lived in the Kansas City area. We had an ice storm that took caused a power outage all across the city. Some homes were without power for over a month.

What caused it? Ice and lots of it covering everything. Trees came down all across the city.

I told you that when severe winter storms come in they cause power lines to go down. It can be caused by trees falling on them because they become to heavy with snow. It could be an ice storm and the power lines become caked with too much ice which causes them to break.

Okay. I finally got off my butt (well actually I was still on my butt but that was just a figure of speech) and I did a little research to see what you were carrying on about.

First I found an article on the Washington Post and when it reiterated your claim I remembered that I was looking at the Washington Post and that is one of the last places where you will find the truth.

It is a clip of Gov. Abbot on the Sean Hannity show. Abbot said, "Our wind and our solar got shut down. And they were collectively more than 10% of our power grid and that thrust Texas into a situation where it was lacking power in a statewide basis."

So there it is. When they lost around 10% (or more) of their power it caused a strain on their power grid. That puts enough of a strain on the power grid that it just could not handle. That can and does cause black outs and brown outs. That is not a crazy of an idea.

What I was telling you is that it put a strain on the system. It cause the demand on all other operational forms of electricity production to go up. And if they were operating at full capacity, before the wind turbines froze, then someone is going to lose power. It is just as simple as that.

It is simple supply and demand. If the demand goes higher than the supply then not everyone gets what they want.
