I too have wondered this many times. What's the point in religious tolerance if you can't tolerate Atheism. The same goes for Atheists.

Because both sides believe that they are right. I honestly don't see the athiest motive, but many religions are trying to help people.

Atheists want to show that the fundamentalists that tortured and murdered in the name of their god were killing for nothing. We also don't want to be forced into the box of bogus religious rules created by worshippers of nothing.

If there isn't a god, then it doesn't matter, if there is a god, then it's more important than anything else.

Only one of those is a belief system

Well... it's just like politics...
Will we ever know which party or what belief system is better for the country/world? No. But we argue as if we do, and we have our opinions.
Just like religion, where nobody knows what is true, they just choose what to think. And then try to get other people to think that way because they think its better.

Because there are some people who just cant seem to understand that its a choice to believe or not or some cant stand others believe a man in the sky

We have nothing better to argue about

There isn't one. Well, except that everyone wants to be right....

It teaches lessons in critical thinking. You can learn about emotional belief vs skepticism. you can learn about reason vs irrational thinking. you can learn logical fallacies. you basically learn all the errors to human thought.

Human egos just like to argue.
Religious fundamentalism has been the catalyst, backed by human fear, pride and greed, for genocide after genocide, rape, torture, murder etc.

None of us know shit. We think we do, but we don’t. Guess what tho, that’s ok.

We’re floating in “space” on a mote of space dust we call “earth” that apparently spins at 1000 miles an hour and travels in a weird trajectory towards some unknown further nothingness.

What the actual f**k is any of this?

I’m a fan of the ideas presented by Buddha, Christ and Krishna in the Hindu texts that the universe is is experiencing itself.
That the same thing that “sees” out from you body is the same thing / no thing that sees, hears, tastes and experiences through every living being.

Who knows. Makes sense to me while making no sense at all.

I’m either Buddhist or Atheist.I’m not sure.I believe in some Buddhist principles but not karma. The world would be burning if karma was real.

I agree

Both sides think they know. Only agnostics are being honest with themselves.
