They exchange high taxes for higher level of government services as well as greater government control that is inherent with that “compassionate capitalism”. The fact that capitalism is a superior economic policy is evidenced by both Russia and China adopting capitalist methods of economic policy and controlling it tightly with the state. So you can be capitalist and communist now, but that’s not what I want for posterity in the US.
