Well...there is a problem for both these people.

The upcoming election. It’s too close to the election.

I say let the ballot box, and us the people, decide the fate(s) of Kamikaze, OlympianProduct, and Richard.

This is why Trump was barely spared in the second impeachment, because he was voted out of office and it was a moot point.

Then, yes, if they both win, we can still impeach them for behavior, during and AFTER the election. Nixon, for instance, was still impeached for his past behavior AFTER he was elected in a landslide.

However, if this is resolved by the ballot box, then it is a moot point since the people removed them from office. Which is why Trump couldn’t be removed, etc.

I disagree with this proposal as it may be exploited by Richard to get his impeachment through while freezing out Kamikaze, who may not be able to find another person to impeach Richard. By Richard’s own logic so far he should be impeached. It still doesn’t solve the problem of this becoming a popularity contest from hell, or a witch hunt/trial.

Instead, I call for a grand jury to be set up. A stream set up by Captain Scar, me, and others where we select a jury pool of decent veteran imgflip members, present evidence to them, they vote and decide if trials and impeachments should happen.

That’s how it works in the real world. That is, if this stream wants to resemble a democratic Republic like America. Otherwise, it’s just a Republic of Rome with Roman madmen like Caligula feeding the Kamikazes of the world to the lions 🦁

Maybe. It could tighten it up a bit.

Perhaps an even better rule would be to scrap the impeachment of Congressmembers entirely. As we’ve seen already, a congressperson impeaching another congressperson just invites a counter-impeachment. In this case, all this activity breaking out 2 weeks before an election poses logistical challenges and distractions and honesty could just be lumped in with routine campaigning and mudslinging without trying to make it formal.

Congresspeople don’t even have Mod powers on the PRESIDENTS stream, so it is difficult to establish that they abused their authority. Short of, well, impeaching someone else for nefarious and unfounded reasons (my charge against Richard).

Perhaps the best remedy to a congressman getting out of line is to shun them, oppose their proposals, campaign against them if necessary, and to persuade the next government not to select them for further service.

Most Congresspeople are appointed — in cases of alleged abuse, perhaps simple removal and replacement by the one who appointed them would be a more efficient answer.
