I really don't see an abuse of power myself (intentions of it maybe) so I wouldn't vote to convict. I see it more as a reason not to vote for him.
However, given that he is a member of congress, you could probably make a case.

I myself am not in favor of impeaching, but it's a gray enough area to take it to a vote.

In this setting, I'm basically functioning as the grand jury, deciding whether or not the case has enough evidence or whatnot to proceed. Regardless of whether or not I think kamikaze ought to be convicted, there are good enough arguments to be made for either side. As far as I'm concerned, if it's a gray area, it's good enough to be taken to our congress to be debated upon. That's sort of the point of gray areas.

As for the argument of abuse of power, it's because kamikaze is a member of the congress. While I don't agree that it's enough for impeachment, it's a point good enough to be taken for debate and a vote.

Besides, I'm only 1 vote on Congress when it comes to actual impeachment convictions. My position of deciding whether or not an impeachment charge has some legitimate claim, regardless of whether or not I agree with the charge, is to act as a buffer and stop any wild, unfounded impeachment charge from reaching congress, who, as you pointed out, could just be a sham that goes along with the whims of someone else. That was somewhat of a problem we had earlier, which is why I put myself in as that check in the first place.

Because again- you can’t be a one-man grand jury. That’s makes you a King, not a jury. A real jury (even a mock jury in high school) is composed of several fair-minded people selected to vote objectively on the legitimacy of case- to see if it can stand trial.

As stream owner and friend of OP, you are a conflict of interest. In a real grand jury, that would disqualify you dude.

Also, a vote to impeach and remove should be two seperate things. If all someone has to do to get someone impeached is be (A) a member of your Congress and (B) get your permission, then that means that even if the vote fails to remove that person from office then that person still lives with the embarrassing stigma of being impeached by YOU allowing that vote to happen in the first place.

To be fair, as a stream owner with clear conflicts of interest, you should leave the decision over putting people on trial to others carefully selected to make sure they have no bias.

Well...I propose a compromise.

Since this is fantasy and similar to a mock trial in high school (I’m a retired school teacher, cancer) then your role should be akin to the teacher.

It would not be appropriate for you to be a one-man grand jury as that violates the very definition of the word.

BUT you should have the right to select the grand jury.

I trust you to pick a good unbiased jury. Most of us do here.🙂

This way, if Kamikaze or Richard are impeached and removed from office, it prevents legitimate accusations or suspicion or fraud after the fact, etc.

Seriously though. What you are doing is closer in reality to a process called “a censure”. Which in this case should also be by majority vote. But it doesn’t remove someone from office. However it is embarrassing and gets the point across in a democratic way.

Impeachment is based on high crimes. Like if someone here threatened to kill another member,etc. It is not a high crime to have radical opinions. That is why you can censure someone for it. Food for thought.

I await any evidence you wish to show, but if you look through my history on this stream I think what you’re going to find is this:

1. I went hard after the admitted Neo-Nazis who tried to hijack and ruin this stream, insult gays, blacks, Jews, women, etc. I make no apologies for that and indeed standing up to bigotry is a main plank of the Beez/Kami platform.
2. I frequently called for peace on both sides when we were under attack by the Task Force, etc. and made clear that we should play defense only and not go attacking other streams.
3. I have stayed on cordial terms with conservative and libertarian competitors and indeed view them as natural allies against Nazis.

I didn’t flag the list of things OP said about me; I rebutted them point-by-point. That is his free speech and mine; although arguably, even introducing all those allegations about me taken from past history (and not properly sourced) violates the new mudslinging rule.

Bigotry, Neo-Nazism, etc. inherently provokes conflict. Walking away from abuse and saying nothing, letting Holocaust denial and attacks on blacks/Jews/gays run rampant, is not a solution I agree with. The stream will calm down with proper modding. Always does.
