There are notable difference between anime and cartoon

Anime
-Mostly created by Japan
-The age group target are +13 and above (Teenagers and adults)
-(Some) Females have excessive large breast
-Has close to very realistic body proportions and anatomy
-(Some) have some very erotic characters

Cartoon
-Mostly created by Western countries
-The age group target are TODDLERS AND CHILDREN
-Character's appearance are made out of basic shapes (Squares, triangles, circles)
-Does NOT resemble human anatomy
-Innocent

But they both fall under the category of ANIMATED

Original western animation(silent era, early Disney) was meant for all ages.
Anime exaggerates hair/eye color and eye size.
At one point Western did have realistic anatomy/body proportions, large breast sizes, and was not afraid to push the erotic line.

I never thought I'd witness someone claim that cartoons have realistic hair and bodies.
