Someone I used to know worked at PBS years ago. Standard issue PC SJW FemiNazi Veghead with two pet cats Lib.
Anyways, she one day for some strange reason busted out and said how because of the ADA, they had to set the air conditioner temp real low in the summer, and because if this, she used a space heater in her cubicle. Space heater. Summer. And she told me this while yapping about Global Warming going to end the world.

She also flies around so much, she's banked up frequent flier miles to fly even more because, well, she's special and thus should.
Remember that Woman's March the month after Trump's Inauguration (that they were gonna have1 every 100 days but stopped after 2)? She flew back to NY despite there being one where she lives at now because, well, the NYC crowd would be bigger and thus awesomer or some crap. Flew here for the weekend.

She also has 2 residences, 1 still here and 2 where she's at. One is a 'temporary' apartment (been years) while they expand the cute cottage by the park her hubby inherited because it's just too small for her sheer amazingness. But she's a vegetarian because eating meat is a symbol of men's sexist patriarchal need to dominate everything, so reckon she's saving the world after all.

It's like Al Gore and Harrison Ford had a hate child, because she is one perpetually irritated self-agrandizing itch.

Geesh, what a nut case! I'd feel sorry for anyone trying to work alongside that kind of person :(

Thing is, she's hardly unique, which is what cracks me up with people classifying me as one of her lot.

Just look at the famous ones, like Gore and Ford I mentioned, or Greta Thumberg. Hate to see how'd they live if they weren't out to save the world from air, probably set up a perimeter of blow torches up everytime they sit outside in case an insect dare near them.

Forum I used to frequent before becoming active here was UK based, and Americans were a minority. I was thus automatically labeled a war mongering imperialistic racist yank, and so I proceeded to take great delight in playing uo the role because they needed me to and it bothered them so and I aim to please (notice how I rarely disavow false charges against muh character? It's more fun that way).
Now it wasn't this R vs L thingy there, and folks leaned all sorts of ways depending on issue, but there was this PC SJW crew. Tyical too - lecturing me (and others) about my own ethnic/cultural background like I was too stupid to know because they were Brits who despite not having met any, well, I was nothing but a minority so therefore ignorant....

One day I OOPSIE DAISIE! *wink* said "Paki," with has pejorative connotations there it doesn't have here, and it was guns a'blazin time. So now I was being a meanypants to the Muslims of the UK. Yet a few comments later, one of them made a reference to "spice heads" because making fun of Hindu Indians is totes ok because they're not Islamics.
That's what unabashed hypocrites these people are.

In general the Brits are weird like that. "You Yanks are evil racists" but then they turn and slag off Jews, Gypsies, Irish, and for some strange reason, Gingers - like with utter contempt and it's cool with them to do so. Ok, Jews and Gypsies have been items of hatred since the way back when, so to them hating those people is a basic given to this day. And Irish, well we all know what the Brits done there. But the way they talk about redheads, you'd think they have hooves and eat babies, it's really weird. It sounds like their kidding, it's so odd, but they speak of all these people with such vitriol.

Certain towns too, rivalries. Like Upper West North Hamington hates those from Southwest North Hamington because 450 years ago Grandma Kensington stole a loaf of bread from the Derkshire's pantry so they've been killing each other ever since, excpet now they only do it after soccer games.

This is so sad. I have a nephew who was born and raised in the UK and my hair is red. I would dread thinking he feels such snobbery :(

It's this utter contempt bordering on demonization, but said so casually that you wonder if they're exaggerating as part of an ongoing national inside joke,,,
I mean some of it obviously is, "We all know you gingers blah blah blah," a gentle poke.
But some I wonder if I'm missing the punchline with that quaint droll British humor.

No, I haven't. I suppose one could not catch or understand a punch-line in conversions with people from other countries though. It is so, I know, with folks not familiar with Scandinavian humor. (But then again, Scandinavian in-jokes typically aren't insulting of other cultures.) And my husband's native friends have their own jokes that are hard to grasp if you are not acquainted with their lifestyles and history.

Like the KMS stream, people asking why don't understand I have nothing against her, it's just that it became a thing on its own, nothing personal. I'm really not that familiar with her material, but I have always loved "Can't Get You Out Of My Head," the song and the video, which I find to be rather artfully done in what it is trying to do, one of my all time fave vids of anybody.
But the subject of the stream took off and became a source of humor in its own way.

There was this plastic lamp of him in the window in this shop on the Lower East Side way back when, and I had planned to buy it one day because it was so utterly ridiculous yet cool in a funny way at the same time. Kitsch on max.

hahaha, when I was active on FB 2015 - 16, this one fella I was friends with there used to post these memes about life on the Rez and whatnot, he'd get them off pages focused on that. I had to check every day because it was real funny stuff. Some was not unlike life in the ghetto too, goverment cheese jokes and all that.

Oh, so the deal with Pakistanis is guilt over Paki Bashing that went on decades ago. Other Moslems get lumped with them, so Brits've been conditioned to be as opposite to the ugliness of days of yore as possible, to the point of tolerating the most heinous acts.

Yet Hindis weren't bashed as badly, and Brits eat their food like we do Chinese takeout (McD's over there even offer curry packets like ours have BBQ sauce), so there was never seen any need to indoctrinate them against calling them "Curryheads" and whatnot.

I will say that it depend upon the office layout. My office faces east and has nearly floor to ceiling windows. If you don't position the blinds just right and any sunlight gets in it heats up like an oven really quickly. So yeah, I crank down the AC and run fans on a regular basis.

Not saying that excuses anyone shit-all-stupid enough to crank down the AC AND run a space heater. Now THAT is stupid.

They cited the ADA,
the AC was set high to accomodate them,
and the one who told me about it had a space heater in her cubicle to counter the chill.
