I thought insulting women because of their looks was sexist?

I sometimes turn sexism against sexists. I've been criticized by feminists for that. If they censor my comments, that's fine. I believe censorship is sometimes necessary.

So you’re basically admitting that you’re OK being sexist so long as it’s the “other side” you’re insulting.

That’s pretty low.

He's criticizing the overdone and plastic-y look of the women (including McEnany) Trump loves to surround himself with, a code of appearance that Trump implicitly promotes by doing so.

This is actually a criticism of sexist standards of beauty for women.

I don't think you'd find too many feminists disagreeing with the notion that the women around Trump up to and including his wife are talentless hacks and professional credential-lacking airheads who have no business running the government.

On the flipside, you'll find conservatives calling Dr. Jill Biden an "illiterate" quite obviously contrarily to her status as a professor of education.

He insulted her by calling her fake. That is a subjective opinion (E.G I think she’s gorgeous). You can’t do something wrong for a greater good. Therefore I reject your defense and do contend he is indeed being a sexist here.

She is fake. So is trump, with his orange spray tan. Does saying so make me a misandrist? Because if so, I wear misandry with pride.

You have right to say what you want. I just think it’s rude and will point out your hypocrisy if I see you decrying righties here insulting people like Psaki or whomever else on the left they deem worthy of insults.

And I'll continue to give them tastes of their own medicine. I don't consider punching a puncher to be hypocritical.

In cases of self defense it’s not. On the Internet though you’re really just venting anger, not defending yourself or others.

It's not equivalent to the virulently sexist crap you will see rising to the top every day in "politics."

Those are okay because the memers consider sexism to be the moral high ground.
2 ups, 3y
There were at least 3 more I saw recently on "politics," that I was gonna link but they must have been flagged and removed, mercifully.

All variations on a theme of: These Democratic women sucked dick to get where they are.

There's a huge market for this crap on the RIght.

You moderate streams called “booty” “boobs” and “MILF” and on your history I see you post suggestive images of women to them almost daily.

You’re a total hypocrite.

Nothing wrong with professional modeling as a career, or sharing pictures of the same. It's the entire point of modeling, after all. Models pose for photos with the expectation and indeed the hope that they will reach a wide audience.

Nothing wrong with being a reality TV host of a show called The Apprentice, either. Nothing wrong with licensing and branding your name.

When you mix entertainment and politics though -- and you put people without the requisite experience or skill-set or frankly compassion to serve at the highest levels of the government -- it doesn't always work out.

Does it?

Life is better when we stay in our lanes.

That sounds like the kind of logic people use to defend caste systems.

People are limited only by their willpower, not their career choices.

Something being ‘less wrong’ is only a justification if legal necessity is brought up in a defense trial.

You’re basically saying, “They’re doing it, so it must be OK if we do it too.”

Nope. That’s a path of hatred, not moral superiority or vindication. It’s wrong and reflects poorly on the character of all who utilize it.

I'm not convinced hatred is always wrong.

It’s possible to use force without being hateful. That’s why we draw a line between self defense and aggression.

To hate something is to wish for it to un-exist. To hate a person therefore, even if they hate you, is wrong. We have no moral or logical basis to wish for the end of someone else. I don’t hate even my worst enemies, though I loathe their views to no end.

I'm not convinced wishing a person no longer or never existed is wrong.

I completely reject that "when they go low we go high" bullshit. I've been in sewers before, so if I have to go down there to fight a sewer monster, I will.

Then you sacrifice any claim to the moral high ground. That viewpoint is only held by those who are fueled by hate. If you truly cared about fighting sexism you’d not deign to use it.

They weren't wrong about everything.

Capital punishment for murders is another example. Is the executioner just as guilty as the executed?
[deleted]

That’s a very nuanced issue, but I oppose capital punishment in any developed country than can afford to lock even the most dangerous criminals up securely.
To your point, I’d say no unless the executioner willfully derives pleasure and purpose from doing so. Then it becomes, to me, sanctioned murder.
3 ups, 3y
I can respect that point of view.
