Well, yeah, some users are actually lucky that the only reason for not being banned from some streams I moderate is because I can't ban them. Not that I will reveal who they are and why I would ban them.

Now I am fond of flexible bans... Bans that can automatically expire when the time comes and of course permanent bans. Of course, you should take in mind that bans are easy to bypass with new accounts, unless of course you as a minimal point count in order to post, but even that is not troll-proof.

Now a ban feature can easily be abused, as some stream moderators do not really seem to know how to properly moderate a stream. This is what makes me reluctant about the feature. However at the same time, I've seen a lot of people abuse the fact that they cannot be banned and deliberately seek a fight with a moderator even when the moderator told them to cease their behavior and then a ban feature can really be needed....

So to stop the abuse, the ban can only be used by owners.. And yes, there are short bans and permanenent bans

Yes, giving a reason is very important, not only for the banned people so they know why they are banned, but also for fellow moderators so they know what has happened should they get to deal with the same user again, or when questions are asked about the ban. Communication between moderators is essential in general but particularly in stuff as delicate as a ban feature.

yes, I think there is another option for the ban, incase an owner abuses it

So there will be a vote option, all mods will vote, owners or mods, there will be a percentage chart, if majority votes to ban, it's a ban. If majority votes to not ban, it's not a ban, but it will be strike 1. If a particular user gets voted 3 times, they will be perma banned

Well, a vote option sounds nice, but may in extreme cases take too long as a moderator should then be able to act immediately. Of course since ban only affect one stream a moderator who abuses their power would damage the stream's reputation.... The trouble with self-moderation however is also that not everybody understands the phenomenon that is self-moderation, and then a moderator abusing power can damage the site as awhole....

Now perhaps stream owners should be able to decide if moderators can ban or not. Especially due to the "Everyones-a-mod" stream I think it's important, as that particular stream can get a bit in trouble if everybody there can ban others.

Only the owners or mods the OWNERS choose, who they know are not corrupt and stuff, may be able to vote, but you never know...

or just banned for a week depending on what ban the owners chooes

also there should be an appeal if a stream simply doesnt want someone or the weakest reason

if you type that user they should be banned, you can also unban

what would the banned user see?

The banned user would see

Sorry You have Been Banned from this stream, come again when you are unbanned

They will get a notification if they have been banned or unbanned

Yes, as an owner of MSMG, this has been happening for awhile. Heck, I even contacted a Sitewide about it.

I just recently became a mod there, but my friend introduced me to the stream a few months ago, though I didn't join then because I thought it was weird with the NSFW, I now joined it because it's cool as heck

Yeah, it has had a huge turn around because before that, a war would happen every day. Now (as of writing this) it's almost 8 days of no war.

Who knew just 7 days without war would be so peaceful

Like I heard Wubbzymon got banned from MSMG yet he still can make memes and comment there, not a very efficient bannning system, if we have an option like this, it works

I said that in MSMG a few days ago it's awesome that we are wanting the same thing, I really do think there should be a ban option because things can get really out of hand in streams and don't know when to stop. Like the Danny incident, Like really we need a ban option. But people would take it out of hand so the owners should only have the option to ban people.
