This happened to me plenty of time. Also, when we eject the imposter, it says 0 imposters remain, yet the game keeps going.

thats cuz the imposter leaves when theyre ejected so the game subtracts them from the count of imposters twice, so it says 0 imposters. (unless you're playing with one imposter then idk why it does that)
