Sure, kids are going hungry tonight. Maybe their parents should work harder. And if they can’t work, they should go to school to get a better job. Oh, that’s the bootstrap fallacy? Too bad.

Also, define "do better." If it means making money off of ruining the environment, stop working hard.

I’ve typed out and deleted several responses because it’s difficult to truly define “doing better” without sounding preachy. In no particular order, and just off the top of my head...

Tax the rich to elevate the poor.
Support labor unions.
Move away from fossil fuels.
Medicare for all.

I love the Chiron. Will probably never drive one but a track day with it would be wonderful!

Start by taxing them. They can more than afford it

The whole progressive tax we set up originally meant those with more paid more, but because it was gradual, those with the most remained those with the most.

Now the poor pay a greater share of their wealth in taxes than the top 1%. That’s fair right?

And don’t forget part of the trillion and a half tax give away to the already rich included tax raises for the middle class and poor. Republicans will lie about it and blame the democrats and their base will eat it up because they have been trained to. Pavlov’s voters drooling at their masters commands
