Well, imo, which is based on my experience, I think labels separate us from each other.
I think “people” are unique and individual in and of themselves, but sexuality isn’t.
We are all sexual beings. Same physiological human drives as everyone else.
What makes 1 flavor at Baskin and Robbins more or less special, unique or important?
Answer: me, otherwise it’s all just ice cream.
There’s nothing special or unique about a persons sexuality is there?
What’s considered “different” is only considered different to me.
Gay, straight, bi, trans, whatever, take away the labels and it’s just humans who like certain flavors of ice cream better than others, or not in the case of asexuals.
I’ve tasted several flavors, guys, girls, trans, 3 ways, 2 girls and me, 1 girl and me + another guy, black, Asian, white, etc, I liked some more than others, what label should I add and how does it matter?
How could I even add a label since my tastes and desires fluctuate on the regular?
Labels are limiting to the definition of the label and since definitions are perceived and interpreted individually, what does a label really mean?
I worked in the porn industry for several years and I’ve seen it all. I know gay men who want nothing to do with anal sex, yet there is a view in the world that gay means anal.
I know straight women who love gay guy porn, I’ve met straight men with a wife and kids at home who liked homosexual sex occasionally.
Sexuality is as diverse as the number of people in there are in the world because it’s personal and custom to our own individual wants and desires.
Now that I’ve written a paper on sexuality as Sean sees it, I’ma go grab some coffe and a smoke.
