And I have no response to your question. I just saw an opportunity to show off my random knowledge prowess and took it.

Of course, this state of affairs has prompted a vast literature on whether the skepticism expressed by Descartes is actually anything to worry about, which has in turn spawned commentaries on the limits to what we can know, as well as just how our existences are tied to that of the world around us.
