I think we need to pressure both parties to not be rigid. The Republicans are likely to see everything as "political." Senator McConnell has a history of obstructing needed emergency legislation to help recovery from the 2008-Great Recession, in order to make Mr. Obama a "One Term President." Have no delusions, he will do the same this time, even though it will cost lives. Anticipating recovery money that is delayed causes generalized anxiety that benefits Republicans. Showing a willingness to peel off that money and expedite it, takes away that advantage.
