I am tall for my age, it is rude to ask if a short person can get something you dropped but it is awkward because they can't reach the item on the shelf and they can barely do anything to do it while you can bend over, squat, or simply reach down to get your dropped item, meaning the taller people are leaders, leaders can help their team with things while bosses have their team do stuff for them.
