That's what's known as "identity politics" aka "tribal mentality". Members of both parties are guilty of that and is why corruption's been allowed to fester. If one speaks out against issues they don't agree with they fear they'll be ostraciized or expelled by the group. In many cases they're right, unless the highest value held by the group is that of ethics and truth rather than power.

Funny you should mention her as she crossed my mind when I wrote my last comment. There's been plenty of criticism of her within the party which was made public, particularly in the WP, NYT, Politico, NPR and PBS. While I've not read any extreme inflamatory insults about her by her colleagues, she has however been put under extreme pressure to conform to the party line.

In this case its because they supported an impeachment based on fake news. Trump never advocated for violence and in fact always advocated for peace and respect for law enforement.

No, they supported the impeachment because it was the right thing to do. Trumph's repeatedly advocated violence at both his rallies and on his Twitter feed, saying things like "if you see someone getting ready to throw a tomato, knock the crap out of him; after a protester got pummelled at another rally he condoned it stating "the audience hit back and I thought it was very appropriate, we need more of that"; "Id like to punch him in the face"; telling police "Please don't be too nice" when apprehending and placing suspects into custody; etc. If you don't think any of that encourages violent behaviour, you're delusional.

There have been dozens of criminal arrests made over the years where the person arrested invoked Trump's name in the police report and court documents as the reason for their behaviour. Here's an article from last year which cites 54 such cases
