I usually put on a book on tape because human voices in the background make me feel less alone. The Cat Who series is pretty great if you like psychic cats and murder mysteries, and the narrator has a nice voice.

weird, for me, I usually take 2-3 hours to fall asleep at home(unless it's really late) and whenever I'm somewhere different, I have no problem for about a day or two, then I have trouble falling asleep again. I did find that covering my alarm clock screen so I can't see the light helps though.
