He believes God told him he would be president one day (he actually said that). He was willing to suck Trump's ass because he thought it was the way for him to get there.

I was just telling someone that it would be funny if Pence takes the power grab to be a 10-day president.

He could go down in history sort of like Lady Jane Grey did, except he'd get to keep his head...;)
