why are trumpers so obsessed with the confederacy?

Some will tell you the Confederate Battle Flag is about “heritage,” but that’s undermined by the fact that even Trumpies outside the South love it.

In reality it is some or all of these things:

1. Racism or, at the very least, profound insensitivity to race;
2. Historical ignorance, reflexively siding with “lost causes” for the hell of it;
3. It “triggers the libz” and in their warped minds, anything that does so must be inherently good;
4. No reason other than “free speech”;
5. They hate the federal government with a passion;
6. They are plain treasonous and proud of it.
