Nope, not the reason. Canadians saw the Trump brand as completely poisonous before the hotels were even built and petitioned city and provincial political officials to remove his name from appearing on the builldings. In Vancouver, the Mayor even stated... "Trump’s name and brand have no more place on Vancouver’s skyline than his ignorant ideas have in the modern world." The Premier of British Columbia concurred. Similiar things occured in Toronto. Canadians simply refused to stay in them, eat there, drink there, or even purchase condos in the towers, so they lost money year after year.
