Ever gotten a job from a person on welfare?
4 ups, 3y
Actually, social welfare programs do create jobs: all those people have more money to spend in their communities. It's corporate welfare that makes jobs overseas.

Ever not ask a stupid question?

Well answer the question and we'll figure out if it's stupid or not.

I'm gonna say no, because people on welfare can't afford to own a business, and you're gonna try to use that to make some stupid convoluted point about why trickle-down economics does work.
3 ups, 3y
That’s a loaded question and an absurd proposition.

Trickle down economics...also referred to as Reaganomics...has not only proven to not work, but has done bordering-on-irreparable harm and increased income disparity in this country over the last five decades.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/tax-cuts-rich-50-years-no-trickle-down/

Making more money on the backs of the working and middle class does not qualify you to have your tax burden alleviated. It’s increased. Why? Because you can afford it.

ok, tell me this. if trickle down economics work so well, then why haven't the money the rich get s from the tax cuts that the republicans have been doing been trickling down yet? shouldn't they have at least been doing some noticeable effects by now?

Do we not produce the most millionaires and billionaires in the world?
[deleted]
3 ups, 3y,

sure, but is that doing anything for the poor and the working class?
[deleted]
0 ups, 3y
Everything. Let's say you worked for X years and saved to create a small business (which most millionaires are btw) and the created jobs for your employees. Most small businesses are on a very tight profit margin and then the government raised taxes onto you and your business don't you think that would have a negative effect on them?

face it, trickle down economics only benefits the rich.
3 ups, 3y
Yes, former president GHW Bush called it "Voodoo Economics" when he encountered it in the Republican primary. He'd been around long enough to know that it was nonsense.

It does benefit the rich what's your point? Do you have tall poppy syndrome

besides, if the money will apparently just trickle down to the poor, why wait when you could just give more money to the poor?

I give to the poor (middle class) why wouldn't I if I became wealthy?

tell me: when has trickle down economics ever actually helped out the poor?
[deleted]
0 ups, 3y
See when you tax heavily you slow economic growth when you slow economic growth you slow the development of better living for everyone.

When has taxing the rich more helped anyone?
[deleted]

but how can just give them all this money and expect them to not become greedy?
[deleted]
0 ups, 3y
Doubt some people get greedy. Who buys ridiculously expensive new products?

The wealthy you see they start a market for let's say chicken plates the first plate sells for $10,000 a wealthy person comes by and buys said plate. Another seller sees that there is money to be made in this new product so he makes his own chicken plate for 5,000 dollars and another seller...etc until the middle class and lower class can afford chicken plats. (Chicken plates was the first thing that popped into my head IDK must be hungry.)
