What the OP might be getting at is, since about the time of Thanksgiving this year, several state and local officials felt it was necessary to lecture the populace about the "right thing to do" in face of covid, especially not to travel or go out in groups.
Examples are the gubna of Cali, who held a giant event in a restaurant that he liked while closing down the rest of the state's restaurants.
The Mayor of Denver put out a statement asking people not to travel for the holiday and then boarded a plane for Mississippi.
The Mayor of Austin takes the cake imho when he recorded a Facebook video also asking his constituents not to travel. The problem here is that he recorded the video whilst in Cabo for his daughter's wedding.
It's the old "do as I say, not as I do" message whilst they're still ramming the "We're all in this together" line of BS down our throats.
