how are biden cultists any diffrent, many dont even support him for his policys, and mindlessly hate trump, none of them changed their opinions of biden when he sniffed children on live tv MULTIPLE times, also he had hundreds gaffes, and had tens of racist or at the very least questionable statements, he obviously isnt and wasnt fit to serve, plus hes the one who supports the riots and he never condemend antifa or blm for burning and looting billions of dollars.

Please read my paragraphs earlier in this thread; I explained why it looks like a cult much more than the Biden people. I don't love Biden and I'm capable of criticizing him (I've called out the media for sweeping the Tara Reid case under the rug) - that's not the case with Trump's hardcore base.
1 up, 4y,

the bidenese people chant as well and take common enemys not even from biden but just from the media, also most crazies in trumps base were crazy wayyyy before trump ever came to office, most of us are just normal people who you wouldent notice on the street.

I guess we'll see how crazy the hardcore Biden supporters get; I think they're STILL smarter and better people than the average hardcore Trumper.

At this point, it's not Democrat vs Republican; most of us didn't hate our family or friends liking Bush, Romney, or McCain at even close to this level. Here's why I really think it's not exaggerating to call the red-hatters a cult: They follow a leader who has a lot of control over them and he can do and say no wrong. Overzealous dedication to 'dear leader' which leads to no thinking for themselves. Cults believe that only the cult leader knows the REAL truth and all people against him are false. The cult repeats slogans the leader says: "lock her up" - "build the wall." Cult leaders create enemies for the flock to obsess over (like Hillary, Ilhan Omar, foreign brown people, and former cult members who leave). https://youtu.be/SvwnIcCpF0Y

Also, in the case of this cult, he's feeding into the almost North Korea-level hyper-nationalism of his followers and promises MORE hyper-nationalism. He's now even giving the cult hope that HE actually won the election (REAL truth), in order to take their money (like Scientology).

There may be a few out there to whom Biden can do or say no wrong, and I will criticize that too (because I'm an independent). I will keep vigilant but I don't think Biden will create a cult like Trump; I promise I will call it out if it happens.

As for the Captain America 'hail Hydra' thing, I've seen a good amount of mutual Facebook friends finish conversations online with, Trump is my president, Trump 2020, and MAGA.

Two friends of over 20 years, one I expected and hoped would come around cause he is a party cult, but hasnt and we have not spoke in years, the other, completely caught me off guard, just came up and he mentioned he was voting trump this election (assumed he did not last time but who knows now) and well we have not spoken since, and I dont see it happening again. Its a fundamental difference of looking at life, right and wrong, good and bad, American, unAmerican, decent, not decent, smart and dumb etc, damn shame.

It sucks (or should I write suck's?) that it has divided friends and families but I really think we are on the right side. Union vs Confederacy, Rebel Alliance vs Galactic Empire, - there really IS at least a lesser of two evils.

I go over this a lot with people. I'm sure you know about the party switch in the 20th century? Alabama, for example, a far right state in 1860 who called themselves Democrat - in 2020 Alabama is STILL a far right state, who now call themselves Republican, after the long and complicated process of the party switch.
0 ups, 4y,
1 reply
Well they are and they aren’t. The confederates were democrats and Lincoln was a Republican those are facts. That the original foundations of each party have morphed over time is a fact also, so a Democrat of today might not be a Democrat then and Vice versa. It’s also not fair to say if you are a Republican now you would be pro slavery then. That’s an insincere argument because it is after 150 years of evolution and enlightenment and people of all political spheres in the US are anti slavery.
0 ups, 4y
You're right, it would be unfair to assume a Republican is pro slavery.
0 ups, 4y,

We don’t live on 1860 so our sensibilities aren’t germain to the conversation we have the advantage of Monday morning quarterbacking on developmental stages. Black people owned slaves in the South as well. The point is you see it as left - right it wasn’t as plain to the people at the time what end of a political spectrum they were on. Most southerners did not own slaves and were not fighting for the plantation owners. They truly did not think the Northerners had a right to impose their will on them and to end their way of life and so decided to fight over it. Over 500,000 men paid the blood debt of slavery.
1 up, 4y
My main point is, you have to admit that a lot of right leaning people here in 2020 say that present day Democrats are the same Democrats who hated Lincoln and were pro-slavery, and they're wrong.
0 ups, 4y,

Pre civil war North was dominated by Republicans who favored big government and federal control. The South was largely Democratic and favored small government that emphasized states rights over federal authority. To call them far right is not really comparable to current understandings of post industrial Revolution communist and fascist movements.

After the civil war the switch came about from the entry of western states to the union and a grab for political power in a shifting balance of dynamics. By the time of Roosevelt the switch was essentially complete with the Republicans being the party of less government and democrats the party of more government in order to implement social policies.

There has been a current shift in the make up of both parties now as well. The moneyed elites have joined the democratic side while a big section of the middle class working man has moved to the Republican Party. As exemplified by the shift of most democratic police unions members supporting Trump instead of Biden.
2 ups, 4y
Yeah, states rights to own people. I'm just making the argument that too many people go with the 'party of Lincoln' thing and that current Democrats were the Confederacy; it's complicated and not totally black and white, but, for all intents and purposes, the South was/is on the right.

Also, I would have to disagree with Republicans being FOR the 'little man'; I thought everyone knew that Republicans are for the rich - making the rich richer and or keeping them rich. Quite a few rich folk side with the GOP.

yes because the KKK overwhelming voted for Obama... do you just take pride in being stupid? ignorant is one thing, we are all ignorant of something, but stupid? stupid means you can not learn.,.... I dont think you can learn... did the KKK support and vote Obama?

So white people equal KKK. I guess when you base your whole existence on reparations you have to be a racist towards white people and promote the systemic racism lie.

Exactly, this is the reason this will lead to bad outcomes. You are the opposite of what you think you are in all of those. As you admitted there is no tolerance or even common ground so come what comes.

As for the economy, Trump just continued Obama's economic policies and has taken credit for it: https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2020/feb/06/donald-trump/no-economy-didnt-suddenly-get-strong-under-donald-/

As for the wall: walls are NOT the American way. He's appealing to his racist, xenophobic, and often low IQ base with the wall promise. He likes to focus on a small number of examples of illegal immigrants committing crimes ('they bring rapists'). You should do some research - illegal immigrants commit LESS crime on average, and don't actually hurt the U.S. economy (no one on the right would ever know this or at least admit it).

But, yes, we could use a new approach with the drug war, and Mexico IS a mess.

If you read my first paragraph again and watch my attached Youtube video in it, you can't tell me Trump and his hardcore supporters are NOT at least cult-like.

So in California the schools went from 1st in the nation to 46th. This can be traced to the 80’s pre amnesty waves of illegal immigration. The system was overwhelmed with needy children. Many hospitals closed because they couldn’t pay for all the indigent care they provided and not compensated. This at least has been addressed somewhat but unbridled immigration is a disaster for any country. Did you have freedom of movement across the IS and Canadian border? Or did you have to show some sort of documentation to travel between the two?

Black Canadians = about 2.5% of the population, black Americans = about 13%. I think it's a case of not HAVING many, NOT not allowing many. From what I've read, the U.S. isn't THAT lax with immigration (maybe relative to a lot of countries out there).
0 ups, 4y
I don't think race is the issue with Canada; it's not easy for ANY person/American to just go and live there. Also, I looked at percentage because it's obvious that Canada has a much lower population.
0 ups, 4y
Yes but you ignore the numbers. 2.5% of 36 million and 13% of 320 million. Anti American or Racism?
1 up, 4y,
2 replies
Yes, I showed identification as a U.S. citizen. I'm still against having a wall like we're East Germany.
1 up, 4y
From what I've read, the U.S. isn't THAT lax on immigration. I don't know the black population of Canada; what point are you leading to with that?
0 ups, 4y
The point is Canada has very strict immigration policy and yet no criticism. You know what the black population in Canada is? A wall wouldn’t be needed if we had better immigration policy.
1 up, 4y,
1 reply
If you don't mind, could you explain where you were going when you mentioned the black population in Canada?
0 ups, 4y
Why doesn’t Canada have a higher black population? Being a neighbor to a country with a diverse vibrant black population and yet they don’t seem to allow or have many? Why is that? Canada has very strict immigration laws. You can’t just decide to go live in Canada or most other countries. Yet the left wants to allow it on a massive scale. No other country is criticized for immigration restrictions in the leftist realm.
