No, he wasn't. You have no proof and have contradicting evidence.

So you say a man doesn't exist and then say he was a socialist?

"Give generously to them and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to. There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your fellow Israelites who are poor and needy in your land."

I believe it's quite to the contrary.

So do most serious scholars on the subject.

The church helping the poor vs the government is different. The main difference being is that one forcefully takes money to help the poor the other giving money to the poor because out of their own free will.

If we’re talking about the Roman Catholic Church, they’re hypocrites. They have buildings laced with gold and platinum in the Vatican while people starve. In the US, they collect money hand over fist, yet enjoy tax-free status.

The evangelical mega churches are even worse. Utterly deplorable in every sense of the word. They fly in private jets while their congregants live in trailers.

I don't like mega-churches they become people pleasers doing anything to keep their member numbers up and the money in. Not to say there are all megachurches are bad for example Tony Even's megachurch.

There are good people. Unfortunately, they are few and far between.

Why do you think people broke away from the catholic church?

Because religious figures of any kind can’t be trusted?

Because the commonwealth could not read the Bible (it was only allowed to written in Latin)
However, because of the invention of the printing press, it became significantly easier to copy books so people started printing it in English (and were killed for it) Eventually, the catholic church couldn't control it all, and English and other translations were printed. Then basically people realized the catholic was skewing the Bible's words for their own financial advantage. And they left and formed their own interpretations of the Bible.

Actually Jesus is the most documented individual of his time.
The question isn't did he exist, its whether he was divine or deluded.

I was confused by his argument it changed from there is no evidence of Jesus being alive to there were no first-hand accounts that were recorded.

I posted the same article previously. It states there’s no archeological evidence for the existence of Jesus.

“There is no definitive physical or archaeological evidence of the existence of Jesus. “There’s nothing conclusive, nor would I expect there to be,” Mykytiuk says. “Peasants don’t normally leave an archaeological trail.”

“The reality is that we don’t have archaeological records for virtually anyone who lived in Jesus’s time and place,” says University of North Carolina religious studies professor Bart D. Ehrman, author of Did Jesus Exist? The Historical Argument for Jesus of Nazareth. “The lack of evidence does not mean a person at the time didn’t exist. It means that she or he, like 99.99% of the rest of the world at the time, made no impact on the archaeological record.”

And the historians that documented him?

I’m actually surprised that you’re willing to suspend disbelief when there is quite literally zero concrete evidence that Jesus of Nazareth ever existed, much less performed his miracles. <insert obligatory raw data comment here>

There’s more proof that the Loch Ness Monster and Bigfoot exist.

Sources that don't include the Bible itself.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/apr/14/what-is-the-historical-evidence-that-jesus-christ-lived-and-died

Its basically a foregone conclusion. All serious historians acknowledge that Jesus the human lived during that time and had a ministry and started Christianity. There is more mentions of Jesus than any other person alive at that time including the Roman emperor.

There are no first-hand accounts of Jesus or his existence. It’s all second-hand stories passed down recorded by Flavius 60 years after his supposed crucifixion.

Pontious Pilate was real. That’s the only aspect of the story that can be 100% confirmed.
