Christmas is the federal holiday name. So its more accurate legally.

Shouldn't a religious holiday not be a federal holiday because of separation of church and state

Nope. The law only says "Cannot establish" nowhere does it say they must remain separate.

Even if that's true shouldn't the US as a country without a religious government not have a religious holiday as a federal holiday. America is predominantly christian but it is not a christian country so an christian holiday shouldn't be a federal holiday.

Or you could just say happy holidays because not everyone celebrates Christmas.

Doesn't matter everyone gets Christmas off (or time and a half pay), so I'm going to keep with the legal definition.
