Does this mean I will get restitutions for being called all sorts of "ists" and "phobes" for being a republican who voted for a particular person and for criticizing the Star Wars sequel movies? I don't fancy being called a "sexist who is afraid of strong women" because I criticized Kylo getting hit in the head with a lightsaber and surviving with only a little singed mark. He should have been decapitated.
Also I doubt Trump is just like Hitler. He may be far from perfect but he is no Hitler.
The thing is there has to be some lies and hate in order for their to be freedom. As much as I would like for only the truth to be told, that is treading dangerously close to totalitarian style censorship.
Was it truth when Kathy Griffin posed with a bloody severed Trump head? Is that really what she wanted to do? Was it Trump's head? No, it was a fake head, and most likely she wouldn't do that for real. It was her expressing herself. That is just one of countless examples that would be illegal in the utopia you are suggesting.
The problem with this whole partisan thing is everyone wants to silence the other side because, in that party's point of view, the other side is always lying and wrong. What both sides fail to realize is that if such a thing ever happened it would affect them as well. And that is the penultimate goal of propaganda, to get everyone so divided and so manipulated, that they agree and actively seek their own oppression because freedom is problematic and dangerous.
Instead of censoring lies, expose them, then outshine them with the truth.
