Which conflicts with what Murphy said...
“Please know that I came to my decision independently, based on the law and available facts,” Murphy said in a letter to Biden. “I was never directly or indirectly pressured by any Executive Branch official—including those who work at the White House or GSA—with regard to the substance or timing of my decision. To be clear, I did not receive any direction to delay my determination.”
It is my understanding that Murphy had no idea what to do between the state certifications and Trump unwilling to concede. The unprecedented move prompted her to review the procedures moving forward and review the likelihood of Trump overturning the election. When none was found, Murphy essentially conceded for Trump. His tweet was an afterthought and not a direction in anyway but to confirm two things.
1. That he was still moving forward with the legal challenges.
2. That he was not ordering her to hold the transition as Trump could’ve suffered legal backlash if he did. As a result, he put his support behind Murphy’s decision and used it as an opportunity to paint Biden as a bully.
