Imgflip isn't what it used to be :-(

Once per week there's someone who says "imgflip isn't what it used to be". Well, that's true. Imgflip changes constantly and it always will ;)

Be constructive and make a specific suggestion if you want to see something improved.

maybe change the available templates to more recent templates/popular templates; a lot of the templates are a bit outdated (bad luck brian, that face you make, disaster girl, roll safe think about it, etc), if you need ideas, just look at the memes used on reddit or mematic. Maybe also more icons or even temporary event icons, that would be fun.

We aren't choosing those, the community is. It's simply sorted by how often they are used.

Perhaps we should incorporate another factor in the ranking to remove the bias from memes that are displayed more often though.

maybe there could be a factor that makes the rank go down after a year or two, so it's not the same memes all the time.

Well actually, if you're only looking at the featured templates then you'll only see memes that rose enough in popularity to join stardom. You can also use the User Meme Templates page if you want to see the most popular user templates at any time.

Most of the "popular" Reddit meme templates are garbage. Referencing video games only a select type of people understand is annoying and just plain dumb. At least with most of the older meme templates you could use them in a wife variety of ways and for just about any occasion.

What's wrong with commenting on old images? I like it when someone comments on an old meme of mine, because I know it reached someone new. Or more likely, annoyed someone new. :)

Yes. That is irritating. When I used to try and do it, I would comment linking them to the begging for upvotes stream. I figure it helps to try and coral them if possible. Some go, some do not. There was a sudden major shift in the young vs older population here. It's like we got hit with a bomb packed to the gills with 10 year olds.

I think it goes through it's seasons. We may see another shift again in a few years. Because you know how kids are. They lose interest and find other things to do. Where the older folks might get cozy and stay put longer. I miss my old friends here. Seems like a lot left when the tides turned here.

in the past few weeks, a bunch of the OGs came back like juicydeath, dashhopes, you, and a bunch more. We'll see what happens after a few months lol
