The thing is, those bankruptcies were highly profitable, and most likely intentional. He's start a project, even when he was told it was doomed to fail, transfer personal debt to the project, transfer invested money to his own accounts, then stiff the investors, contractors, builders, suppliers, etc. by declaring bankcruptcy. Not necessarily ineptitude, but definitely criminal.
