We only had 5 people total for our meal, so I didn't do a turkey but I did do a rotisserie chicken on the weber. Injected it and let it marinate for about 2 hours, then stuffed a bunch of compound sage butter under the skin before I put it on, added some apple wood to the fire for a little smoke. I gotta say though, it was a huge disappointment. I think I got hold of an old bird because that thing was tough and rubbery as all get out. Flavor was on point, but the texture was terrible. Not my proudest moment. It was a 7lb bird and I usually stick to 5lb ones, so again I think I just got an old tough yard bird or something, that's the only thing I can think of that would have made it turn out that way. I'll redo the recipe with a smaller one soon and see how it turns out because it was one of the best tasting chickens flavor-wise I've had in a long time. Luckily we had all the other sides to go with it, mac-n-cheese, sweet potato casserole, collard greens, dressing, and I made some gravy from the drippings that was out of this world. It somewhat redeemed the chicken, lol.
How about you, anything interesting? Hope your thanksgiving was good.
