The community is not sexual biased. Some furries in the fandom do draw 18+ art, but that is the same thing for quite a few other fandoms out there. I'm trying to explain it as best as possible. If you're not sure what I mean I can try to explain it better.

The history of furries: it all started at a sci-fi con, one person thought "hey those anthro animals look cool, maybe we could make a group of people." This was around the 80's so people couldn't easily access the internet. But they started a meeting/convention called "confurence" but this is where it goes down hill. (Btw this is 2/100 of the entire furry fandom) their were pedophiles and there was also the cum in the elevator too.

Bit that all changed with the code of conduct.

The furry community was a gateway for bisexual and homosexual individuals( including myself) so that's why you see so much homosexuality in the furry fandom ,and fandoms a today. Then a book named "the bible of the furry fandom" in which a newcomer misunderstood the codes of conduct of the furry fandom. It thought that anyone whom would join in a sexual way, would be kicked out(this was the 90's)

Then they started a group called "the burned furs" then went away with their insane ramblings of non- humane language.

Then after years of torment, it stopped, all of them fell apart. We are were we are today.

Pretty much what the others said. Furry things always being sexual is a very common misconception, that's only exacerbated by the amount of bandwagoning that unknowledgeable parties spread.

Being sexual isn't a requirement. I get there are some people who do Nsfw, 18+, or mature audiences, but a lot of the rest of us keep it clean and friendly for others, especially here. All of us who were here for about a month now have seen people get iffy about nsfw posts onstream, but fewer and fewer pop up nowadays, so it's a lot safer now than it was a month's past. All of us have been making a commitment, modder or not, we still treat each other the same most of the time. Most important is cubs. we know this place is the meme only version of reddit, so younger people are more drawn here, meaning more cubs could be walking into stuff they aren't yet ready for.
