I agree with the title. Though, I wouldn’t complain if someone gave the death penalty to a serial killer or terrorist.

I probably would, if it wasn’t assigned by the government. I agree with you, it shouldn’t happen, prison is good enough as long as they can’t do any more harm to the planet. But, I probably wouldn’t argue if they decided to kill a serial killer.

It matters if you killed him for self defense, saving the public, or stupidity

they deserve it, you take someone's life then you don't deserve yours. (depends)

The death penalty question isn't about morality. It's about justice. And it's a deterrent. Heck, if three squares a day, free room and board, free medical, and my laundry getting done for free for life was the worst that could happen to me, I'd be in a killing spree right now and so would many others.

In my opinion, I feel that a life sentence behind bars is better than the death penalty.

If it was really a life sentence, then it would be ok, but most of the time when someone gets a “life sentence” they are out again in 10 years or so

I agree with the title. I feel the only time it should happen is when the person is a mass murderer who has escaped multiple times.

Depends on what they did. If they killed multiple people, they should probably be sentenced to death. If they did something that didn’t involve murder they shouldn’t be killed.

Taking another person's life (with the exception of war and execution) is the worst crime a person can commit, and therefore can be punished by death. Execution should be done quickly and speedily, and should only be done on the testimony of at least two credible witnesses and material evidence.

In war the God says you can kill to protect your country, but if it's like the goliad massacre or battle of the Alamo (look it up) that's bad. But if you were, say, drafted into ww2 and in the battle of dday and you see a German running at you with a shotgun and you kill them, it isn't murder.

No I know people die, but even in war, killing people is still unforgivable to someone on either side of the war

I don't like war, and I think it should be avoided, but I don't think killing the enemy in battle is unforgivable.

I think it should be reserved for people with power (goverment, business) who use that power to harm others.

I believe anyone who has committed more than 2 first-degree murders with strong evidence and is over the age of 21 should receive the death penalty. For just anyone who commits high treason.

Death Penalty should only be used in the rarest cases when
a) They have gone through excessive rehabilitation
b) Said rehab has not helped them
c) there is no way to put them in solitary or in a bulletproof glass cage

It's not a harsh enough punishment. For some criminals, it's the easy, painless way out. But it's just murder if the person is innocent.

If we publicly executed ppl like rapist, pedophiles, ppl in charge of violent crimes, etc. There would be none of it. Say someone get caught steeling for the 3 time, cut a hand off. If we did this there would be little to no crime. And as it is, if ppl are going to do some in today’s society that get them the death penalty, then that’s what needs to happen. Those ppl are too big of a threat to ppl that they need to be put down.
