To all of our esteemed think tank followers and contributers: thank you all for your participation. Overall this stream has been and remains one of the best streams on the site. It is also one of the more popular streams, with several hundred followers.

In general, things are going great, but over the last few weeks I've noticed an explosion of disrespectful and profanity laced comment sections that fully embrace everything that this stream is not. I and the other MODs of this stream expect each and every one of you to follow the stream rules. If you have not read them recently or at all, please take the time to do so now. Unlike other streams (like politics) the rules must be strictly followed or your comments will be deleted or memes unfeatured. This is to maintain the integrity of the stream and spirit of respectful exchange.

Mmmm, a White Russian...I will be having some KBS Espresso and KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge and some Stella tonight, as I watch the counts roll in. There's really no point in me being at work right now, as I cannot concentrate on work.

Had some Leffe over the weekend, awesome Belgian blonde. Also a few White Zombies (because Halloween) from a local brewery down here, they are about as crisp and refreshing as any I've had, really delicious. Haven't had a white russian in a long time but yeah those are good!

Leffe is very good. I used to be a Belgian beer freak, but that was well before craft beers became the in thing. However, it does still stand up to just about anything. I remember La Chouffe as being one of the best, crispest blondes in Belgium. That was always one of my faves. Never had a White Russian from Catawba. I don't really like white ales, though.

You'd like this one I think, it's very clean. Almost doesn't strike as a white ale. I had a falling out with white males a while back and was skeptical, but that one came highly recommended from a reliable source so I went with it. Glad I did, it would pair up with a lot of things, especially good for a trip to the bowling alley or pool table.

Yes, it's an ongoing experiment to see if folks can behave...on one hand the stream traffic has picked up tremendously, but on the other we've had a big influx of users who aren't familiar with the rules or don't care to respect them. Let me or one of the other stream mods know if you see anything getting out of hand.

I haven't seen any major problems with political memes in TTT. I think it ought to be allowed. I suspect this ripcowbelly person doesn't like it because the politics in the memes is counter to what he/she believes. ripcowbelly is actively going around and posting insulting responses to any politics memes I've posted recently. I think that's all the evidence you need to make a determination on what this person's motivation is.

They're entitled to their opinion, I have no issues from a stream perspective as long as it remains respectful.

They indeed are entitled to their opinion, but insulting people for opinions counter to their own is not okay.

Here's the thing. I know you've skated through life with your BBQ offerings. Your job interview, you brought a BBQ in. Your wife? Bribed her parents through sleight of hand BBQ work. But that doesn't work on me. I'm immune to your BBQ trickery. Can't smell it, can't see it. Your trump card is nullified.

And my in-laws like steak well done, so their taste in meat is terrible so I won the Mrs. over fair and square...it was almost a deal breaker for me but she showed me she wasn't like them, it was a redeeming moment.

Cow didn't die only to be cooked well done man, its disrespectful! Had a med rare strip au poivre the other night at the restaurant I took my wife to for her birthday...that was absolutely delicious.

Yummy! Au poivre...I don't get how that is even a thing...I mean, how much different is it than a steak that has salt and coarsely ground/cracked pepper? I've always wondered if it can really be a distinct dish, or if it's just a steak that is more heavily seasoned with coarse pepper than it is salt.

No idea, but the one I had was awesome! The pan sauce is what makes it I think. The fact that it was a prime steak made it all the better, just melted away as I chewed it.

Nice. Yeah pan sauces often do make steaks. Although, the pan sauce has nothing to do with su poivre, from my understanding anyway.

No, it has nothing to do with the actual cooking process itself but it's a common accompaniment to the recipe from what I've seen. The steakhouse we went to is one of the best in town/region, they get choice cuts that most other restaurants don't get. One of their specialties is a bone-in filet mignon, and as I understand there are only one or two of those per bovine so they only get sold to the best restaurants. I've never actually popped for one of those but one of these days...they're like $80 just for the steak...and if you want sides it's all ala carte. Maybe when I turn 40, lol.

Yeah, my receiving lead tells me there are *can be* two per cow, but it depends how you cut the bovine...he said it's a porterhouse cut in half, essentially. He's a master butcher, used to cook in a lot of the best restaurants, all across the globe...never made it big and now does receiving/whse work. Anyhow, I trust him on it because I've seen him butcher a side of beef and the guy truly is mastered. Better than the dudes on youtube and whatnot. He said he'll cut and cook one for you however you like, but only if you pay for his, as well. Now I want steak, but I'm gonna eat Taco Bell instead.

7 people actually, but Jim was so busy devouring his passel of pork that he was forgotten...he died a happy man, God rest his soul. I was nominated for a nobel peace prize, but lost the award due to a jealous judge who wouldn't give a thumbs up because I wouldn't share my secrets.
