Asgore can destroy any button that he wanted

But probably not save button

To be fair, the entire point was to persistently not attack on your turn to be presented with dialogue to progress. With no buttons, asriel will only have his turn, never knowing if you’re willingness not to fight back, so out of fear he’ll attack until you’re dead before purging the timeline.
