Floyd was overdosing on fentanyl, which causes respiratory distress. He was saying he couldn’t breathe before he was even on the ground. Fentanyl killed him, not the restraint.

Floyd kicked off in the car, claiming he couldn't breathe etc. and ASKED the cops to put him on the ground ...how much more leeway can cops be reasonably expected to give a known, violent criminal?
