While yes they could put some restrictions around what they can do but they are allowed to discipline you

Your opinion is well-respected. But some Indian/Burmese parents and teachers will hurt and beat you with a cane or belt or whatever they can get their hands on with if you get an A- or B+ which isn't that bad. Yes, the South Asian teachers should still get paid but not as high as other teachers.
