It's been 10 months of telling people to wear their masks. That doesn't mean people have been doing it.

In Japan, they just wear their masks without whining a bunch of excuses because they've lived through SARS and shit - and AS IF BY MAGIC, Japan have had a tight control over the pandemic.

The Japanese baseball leagues are in the final stages of a 120-game season, twice the length of the US's 2020 season. Just one example of how well Japan has managed the pandemic. Taiwan and Korea managed similar-length seasons as well.

Or maybe we are being lied to. I see lots of people wearing the masks by the way.

Am I being lied to by the media and the government, yes. Do I wear the mask, yes.

Can I ask you the same question? Are you?

I wear the mask. My family barely goes anywhere unnecessarily. We don't eat out at all. Not even ordering takeout. A lot of Americans wear the mask too.
I live in Kentucky, a lot of people are scared and doesn't go anywhere and many more wears the mask diligently. South Korea has roughly the same acreage of land as Kentucky. But South Korea has over ten times the people. Kentucky however has triple the cases and triple the deaths. So you have an incredibly contagious that spreads easily yet hits rural places Kentucky harder than massive metropolitan areas like South Korea. Does that make sense?
Oh it's because Kentuckians must not be going by the guidelines and Koreans are. Sure go with that flimsy copout answer instead of daring to question that you just might be being lied to. More Americans are wearing the mask than is being acknowledged. And it is far easier to social distance in Kentucky than South Korea since there isn't as many people.

I don't know what else to tell you - ALL studies of mask useage in Kentucky concludes that it's a patchwork of compliance and non-compliance AT BEST. And, AS IF BY MAGIC, y'alls death rate is higher.

South Korea has enough history with SARS to know that you don't argue with a virus - the virus doesn't care about your excuses. So, yeah, sorry. That's how evidence works.

(Please read everything.)
You would listen to an article before you would someone living in Kentucky? That's not how evidence works, that's how propaganda works. If the mask helps why do people wearing the mask gets covid? If people over here who wears the mask gets covid then how are the South Koreans any better?
I will not concede to Kentuckians being non compliant, I don't care if the POTUS himself wrote the article you got your information from. What I will concede to is that Americans have some stupid tactics. For example one relative took my 95 year old grandmother out to eat. He wore the mask in the car while taking her and wore the mask until they ate at the restaurant. Another relative took my grandmother to visit a different relative, it was just three of them, and all three wore the mask while visiting in the relative's house. But they took off the mask and ate together.
Does that make sense?

My sisters are going to a college. One particular professor brags about being a "covid enforcer" and making everyone abide by the guidelines. She also has had cancer and therefore has a weak immune system. She picks on one student for wearing the mask below their nose but says nothing about another student not wearing a mask and this student sits closest to her. According to my sisters, that student is her favorite.
Does that make sense?
That same professor also singled out my sisters and told them to be particularly careful so as to not get anyone sick because my sisters are commuters. Despite the fact that my sisters always does what is right.
Is that fair?

The governor of Kentucky, along with other governors and the media, was singling out churches as spreading the virus. Despite the fact that many churches was taking extra measures to be safe. Churches was told they couldn't gather, not if they abided by the guidelines, and not even outside. Pastors was even arrested for having church.
This is blatantly unconstitutional!
Not one of those governors or the media contributed the spread to the mass gathering of protestors.
Why?
There was a limit for gatherings, inside and outside, the protests exceeded those numbers by far.
So why do they not get the same scrutiny?
The media and politicians blame one potential cause and ignore another. WHY?

(Just to be clear, I am all for people protesting peacefully. It is their right and I support them. My point is about the media and politicians picking on some things and ignoring others.)
