One of the main reasons so many people do drugs is because it is cool to break the law. Legalizing weed makes it much easier to regulate it. The other is lack of social interaction. If we just let people socialise and decriminalize addiction and change our attitudes to such things, we would see a decrease in drug use. Just take a look at Portugal

Seeing as how ethyl alcohol is legal, marijuana definitely should be legal, as well. Alcohol has such a worse affect on society that it is criminal for it to be legal and pot to be illegal. It makes absolutely no sense.
