But that was when Dems were still pro individual rights and the Constitution. They have gone too far left. (It’s funny the left is claiming the right has gone fascist or too far right, but that’s just rhetoric to excuse their communist/socialist agenda.) I used to believe an occasional Democrat getting elected would maintain balance and keep both parties more honest. Dems want to enlarge government powers and lessen free markets and individual rights which are counter to American concepts.
But attack the Constitution and Bill of Rights, you will never get my vote. I am not a big fan of Republicans either as they also have done crooked things. I used to say I lean Republican as an independent. But now I would like the Dems to disappear and Libertarians to take their place. Then I would lean Libertarian with occasional Republicans being ok. But Dems have blown it by not being laissez-faire with governmental powers. We are not a democracy as might doesn’t make right (via majority rule). Individual rights must always be protected. Dems want to deny this, too.
