It doesn't matter whether it's democrat or republican. Both sides have the same people actually ruining your life. The only difference is the people they blame for it.
You're at least 10, maybe 20 years out of date. All of the rich elitists and big corporations support the left now. This is especially true since Donald Trump became the Republican presidential candidate.
