Not sure how this is on topic. Seems like a clumsy change of subject. But I'll play: Venezuela is one country. Their economic crash wasn't because of socialism. Their economy was almost entirely based on oil. Oil prices were high and they were rolling in money. Yes the leadership tried to address inequality implement socialism. But then the oil markets tanked and they couldn't afford those programs. It would have gone much the same without socialism.

Seriously, look up their economy from rise to fall. Don't just look at it from when they were rich to poor. If memory serves, over a 10 or 15 year period they went from destitute to rich then back to destitute.

If you care to know more about it than an overly simplified meme that tries to draw dubious parallels, then try reading this: https://www.history.com/news/venezuela-chavez-maduro-crisis I'm not implying that Chavez and Maduro were good rulers, but Venezuela became wealthy due to a bubble in the price of oil. They then spent a ton on social programs to combat rampant poverty. Plus the timeline is off. Chavez was elected in 1998. In 1992 he attempted a coup and was arrested. They had one major industry and they overspent. US embargos also hurt them. To overly simplify and claim that those events above happened in a vacuum is just manipulative. Look hard enough and you can find parallels with most things.

Systemic racism exists, but to imply that pointing or the existence of that matters the whole country racist is the simplified view of racism that some people try to push in order to deny racism exists. Racist isn't something you are, it's something you do. There are degrees of racism and nobody thinks of themselves as racist. They say the things above to justify their particular belief and actions. They say things like "race realist". They are all justifications to place one kind of people above another. We were all immigrants at one point or another.

Not wanting to be displaced in your own country is “racism”?

Yes, but which specific racist statement are you taking issue with?

I just asked you a direct question. Is not wanting to be displaced in your own country “racist”?

What do you mean by displaced? If you just mean people here too expecting the same freedoms as any other American, then 100% that is racism. If you don't like people expressing religious freedom with a different religion or participating in government, then there is probably a document you should read.

Laws and limits on immigration are not necessarily racist. But, every wave of immigrants has faced these same fears. Italians, Irish, Chinese, you name it. They won't integrate. They won't learn the language. Hell, Kennedy had to address anti Catholic sentiment when he ran for president.

So the direct answer without knowing which statement you are taking issue with is "yes". We were all immigrants once. Diversity is strength. People are only "other" if they or you make it that way. We have rules on what it takes to be an American (born or naturalized). If you think people who have met those criteria are an attack on you, then yes: racism.

Maybe not lynch people racism or concentration camp racism. But it's a start. It's fear, and lines in the sand, and suspicion. Nobody leveled up their racism without first establishing those things.

Be wary of the voices telling you people are different or especially that they are less. We have the trail of tears, Japanese concentration camps, slavery, and Jim Crow already in our history. I'd like to not repeat any of those.

Are the Japanese racist for keeping their country Japanese? Is Israel racist for keeping their country mostly Jewish?

If either limit the ability of people to immigrate purely based on race, then yes, that is racism. But they don't: https://www.justlanded.com/english/Japan/Japan-Guide/Visas-Permits/Japanese-citizenship Israel also allows for naturalization, so while it is easier to obtain citizenship if you are Jewish, they have avenues for others, including Arabic people. That said, even were it more difficult, neither country has lady liberty and a plaque stating "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!" If you want to block all immigration period...well you could argue that isn't racism. But if you want to limit immigration based on melanin, then that's racism.

In 1965, the U.S. was 84% white. Today, the U.S. is 63% white. Yes, we are being replaced. Take your damned lies elsewhere.

Tell me, when white people are a minority in this country, will we be offered affirmative action? Will we get the benefit of anti-discrimination laws? Hate crime laws?

Black people already murder us at ten times the rate we murder them, despite that we're the majority. Are they going to be more civilized towards us when there are fewer of us?

No, minorities are treated quite well in the U.S. However, all indications are that they have no intention of returning the favor if we are reduced to minority status.

I also find it fascinating how quickly you switch from "You're not being replaced" to "You're being replaced, and what are you going to do about it?" It's almost like you know your point was dishonest from the start.

I would imagine the same laws in effect now will be in effect then. Will we need them though? Affirmative action is intended to encourage diversity where it doesn't exist. White people can already benefit from it. A white student applying to a predominantly black college would qualify for it the same as any other race.

https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2017/crime-in-the-u.s.-2017/topic-pages/tables/expanded-homicide-data-table-6.xls

In 2017 ~16% of White homicides were committed by black people (578 out of 3567). About 9% of black homicides were by White people (264 out of 2970). That is 2x the rate, but it is definitely not 10x. I'm not going to address the "are they going to be more civilized" question because the underlying premise and numbers were wrong.

Care to point out where you think I changed my story? Because i don't think I did.

I suppose if you associate melanin with identity, then we are being replaced. But such a view is inherently anti-American. We are a nation built from many nations and a common dream. Plus, while white people are projected to become a minority in the next three decades, we will still be the largest minority by far for some time to come. While we won't make up over 50% of the population ourselves, there will still be more white Americans than any one other minority.
