It wasn’t a bold assumption on the good people of Kentucky, it was an assumption that rat lickers who don’t follow the guidelines are f**king stupid. My analogy stands in that there is no basis for a comparison between apples and Buicks, outside of your snarky retort (which I got a good laugh out of...a sincere kudos to you), the same as there’s no comparison between Michiganonians(ites? ans?), as an example, running armed into the state capitol building and people protesting the murders of people via systemic police brutality.
I’d argue some risks are worth taking. Because you want a haircut and be able to drink in a bar? - No. Because you don’t want to be choked to death for a broken taillight? - Yes.
I didn’t make any response regarding your church comments, because if I’m being honest, I don’t find church to be all that necessary. God is everywhere, right? There is almost a requirement to come into close contact regardless of the circumstances (offering of peace, receiving the host, etc.). It’s a matter of opinion, but when you boil it down, it strikes me (again, very much an opinion) is an unnecessary risk. All it takes in one person to contract it to put those ten or fifteen congregants at risk.
