The Pope's assistants pointed out that he has a policy of not giving politicians photo-ops during election cycles. They also pointed out that they "privately," discuss such things, including the proposed agenda Pompeo is attacking them with. One would expect an unpresidential president to have an undiplomatic chief diplomat.
