He didn't shut down travel. He shut down SOME travel. He half-assed this. He banned non-US citizen traveling from the Wuhan region from coming to the US. US citizens, permanent residents, families of US citizens who were themselves not citizens, and families of permanent residents could travel. OH, and all the people who travel on those planes and ships as crew, they weren't banned either. That was on January 31st.
The first case of COVID-19 in the US was on... January 24th. Too little way too late.
And then what did he do? What did he do to stop it?
Did he ban travel from Italy? Nope.
Built emergency hospitals? Yeah. But most of them never admitted a single patient. Because they didn't have the equipment.
And didn't he cancel Jared's plan? Yeah. Yeah, he did. Because it would make the blue state governors look bad.
And didn't he keep saying how it was a hoax? and cases would go down to 0? and how it would "like a miracle" just go away? Yeah, he sure did.
If you could, and take your time doing the research, find all the elected Democrats who called him xenophobic? I'll start you off with the low-hanging fruit. Biden. January 31st. Iowa. Exact text: “A national emergency worldwide alerts. The American people need to have a president who they can trust what he says about it, that he is going to act rationally about it. In moments like this, this is where the credibility of the president is most needed, as he explains what we should and should not do. This is no time for Donald Trump’s record of hysteria and xenophobia – hysterical xenophobia – and fearmongering to lead the way instead of science.”
I'll follow up with Biden's follow up in USA Today: “The possibility of a pandemic is a challenge Donald Trump is unqualified to handle as president.” Biden wrote that he recalled “how Trump sought to stoke fear and stigma during the 2014 Ebola epidemic.” Trump, Biden wrote, “railed against the evidence-based response our administration put in place — which quelled the crisis and saved hundreds of thousands of lives — in favor of reactionary travel bans that would only have made things worse.”
So. Biden was talking about Trump's history of hysterics about diseases.
But You said plural. So, you need to dig up all the others.
