They all get the same rights as anyone else. If they decide to take several months of for unnecessary surgery, then its completely legal to fire them.

No its not. Gender dysphoria is a medical condition. Its not legal in all but 26 states. You have the right to your own body, they shouldnt be fired for that.

As long as you don't violate company policy and they do the legal thing of giving you so many sick days and vacation days. If you take time off after that, that's on you.

They can't fire you for transitioning. They can fire you for a number of unrelated things like truancy, company image, etc...etc...
I once worked at a place that fired a guy after he got arrested for soliciting a minor. They were perfectly within their rights.
