Yes and no. Many propagandistic, ESLish memes in the politics stream get upwards of 50 votes but never get featured on the front page.

Are you sure? They could have already hit the front page and just be trending downwards.

But if true, and ImgFlip has reasonable suspicions and is capable of throttling it, I wonder why ImgFlip would choose to sponsor the content at all.

I dunno man, I've definitely seen suspicious accounts promoting odd political angles that seem in the wheelhouse of rightie logic but feel just a bit off

Whatever the Russians and whoever else are exactly up to this time (and God knows we'll never uncover the full extent of it, certainly not while Trump is in office, and even assuming Biden wins in November), it can't be that taxing on their operations to throw a few trolls our way every now and then.

Not many people use this site admittedly compared to places like Twitter, FB, etc. but the memes can certainly be created here and farmed/reposted elsewhere.
