But i think Under Lab theory is kinda true. The spoon amalgamate is created by memories, just like memoryheads.. but memoryheads are bad memories. The spoon amalgamate probably created by the memory of the motherly one... well you can guess it, Toriel

And also The amalgamates the created by bunch of memories are created by Gaster, since Alphys only amalgamated monsters to monsters not memory to memory

Also if you wondering why its doesn’t look like Toriel... well its simple. You can see mostly the pre-battle amalgamates and battle/fight sprites are different (except for Endogeny). If spoony have a battle/fight it will be formed something different rather than a spoon.
