Yes that number can be misleading. The question isn’t co morbidity but in the absence of Covid would that comorbidity have caused the death and the amount of time the death was hastened by Covid. So for example if the patient had cancer and would have died in a short time then got Covid and died a month sooner. The reported number is likely much lower but there are certain key people whose co morbidity only contributed to their demise because of Covid. No Covid no death for them.
