BLM started in Ferguson in wake of Micheal Brown. Both the ‘No Peace’ and ‘burn it down’ chants started there and then. Ferguson riots were 2014.... long before Trump. Trump didn’t start this, in fact, some say he was elected in response to the Colin/BLM unrest.

Well, BLM is just the latest version of the Civil Rights Movement, but let's agree that "it" started in 2014 because of what happened in Ferguson.

BUT then we had a President who said "hey, let's all calm down now." Like President before him had done in times of civil unrest.

As crap of a President as Bush II was, he did this part well. He did have an ability to make people feel like they were listened to and he cared about them.

But not this guy. From the jump- remember back when those 4 soldiers died in Chad? He called the family and basically said "Yeah, I guess you feel bad he's dead?"

The man has no empathy. I get that conservatives voted for him because of that- they want to see the people they hate punished, and he does do that well.

This guy defends cops who use excessive force. He calls Nazi's who murdered a woman "good people." He praises a vigilante kid who murdered people. He says that poor/brown/black people are going to come int the suburbs and destroy it.

He makes things worse. Then, a few days later, his staff force him to get on camera and read a prepared statement that he clearly doesn't mean.

He set dumpsters on fire, claims he's the only one who can put them out, and then demands that we tell him he did a great job.

More than 750 million people say they want to move to the US. That's almost double our current population... if everyone came, our population would triple. I think you and I can agree we can't handle that and therefore we must have some method of limiting what percent of that 750 million come. Once we decide there must be some limit, you start devising a system. Is it merit based? Needs based? Certain numbers from certain countries? This is exactly what the US has done. We placed limits and then evolved them over the years. There were negations with give-and-take for every element of the law. I don't think there is anything close to generalized agreement on how the law should be changed. Some argue for needs based prioritization, others argue that negatively impacts low skilled US citizens. Some argue for merit based, others say this favors wealthy countries and neglects diversity. We go back and forth, compromise and get the system we have today. If there are elements that need to be fixed, it's congress that needs to do that.

Here's the problem, illegal immigration ignores all this. Talk to a person who moved here legally and ask how they feel about people ignoring the entire immigration process and just coming here. Illegal immigration is part of the 750 million who want to come here just cutting the line, ignoring all the priorities US citizens agreed on and taking matters into their own hands. I don't agree with your freeing of slaves or legal rape analogies.

I didn't say illegal immigrants 'hurt me,' I said I don't like lawlessness. I have the same reaction when I see a store being looted, a large crowd rushing a border fence, a crowd surrounding a car, people fighting with police, etc. It doesn’t ‘hurt me’ when a store is looted, but I don’t like it and think it should be stopped. We as a society have agreed on a set of laws for a reason. I’m in favor of changing immigration laws in whatever way gains the benefits you support.
