I try to look at reality and make it as ideal as possible. For example, if I'm working on a lawnmower, and they no longer sell the part I need, I'll find a part that's as identical as possible to the original, then swap out pieces between the original and replacement parts to make it fit. Sometimes it doesn't completely satisfy my perfectionism, but it usually works.

I believe ideals can be truths

I try to find how truth can become ideals, how you can take what is happening and make it better. Sadly, no issues are cut-and-dry good or bad as some politicians would have you believe, so that solution is always a work in progress. For example, no matter how appealing socialism seems it would be if everyone worked hard to contribute, the reality is that people aren't perfect, and every government is seceptible to corruption and could take all the wealth for itself. Not to mention how lazy the workforce becomes when everyone gets the same free wage. It would be nice for society to be it's ideal form, but to fix our issues, we have to look at the harsh reality.
